Our client is a well-established Canberra accounting firm with a reputation built on long-term client relationships, technical excellence and practical commercial advice. Their clients include high-net-worth individuals, family groups, SMEs, large private businesses, investment entities and not-for-profit organisations across industries including medical, childcare, hospitality, construction, primary production, professional services and deceased estates.

They're seeking a Business Services Manager to play a key role within the practice.

This is a position for someone who enjoys being the trusted adviser to clients, leading a team and helping shape the future direction of a firm. You'll oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, review compliance work, provide tax and business advice, and act as a key point of contact for business owners and decision-makers.

You will work directly with the Partners which gives you great influence, faster decision-making and exposure to strategic matters.

You'll be supported by a capable team and have the opportunity to mentor and develop accountants who are eager to learn. At the same time, you'll continue building your own technical and commercial expertise through structured fortnightly training, specialist tax sessions, external presenters and ongoing investment in technology.

The firm is progressive in its adoption of AI and emerging technologies. They already utilise AI-powered tax research tools and actively encourage team members who are interested in innovation and finding better ways to deliver value to clients.

This is an office-based role in Canberra, providing daily access to Partners, mentoring opportunities and collaboration with senior team members.

What we're looking for

• 6 + years' Business Services experience
• CA or CPA qualified
• Experience managing client relationships and reviewing compliance work
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A genuine interest in advisory work and helping clients achieve their goals
