What You’ll Bring

Develop and deliver data models, data mappings, and business glossaries for data and analytics solutions.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into data needs, and facilitate data provisioning from source systems for analytics and reporting.

Work with the team to design, deliver, and document end-to-end data solutions, presenting proposed designs to business and developers for stakeholder approval.

Apply industry-standard capabilities, data models, and frameworks as governance mechanisms.

Engage with Sydney Water business SMEs, business analysts, and other resources for projects and engagement

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with demonstrated experience in delivery of data model and design for Data and analytics project delivery.

Either certification or proven experience in data architecture / modelling using Industry model.

Sound experience in a data modeller and/or similar role and significant years of experience in IT.

Demonstrated experience in Azure or other cloud-based data and analytics data platform

Broad expertise across data modelling capabilities, principles and policies

Skills Requirement

Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling

Deep knowledge of

Dimensional modelling (Star, Snowflake schemas)

ER modelling (3NF, normalized models)

Data Vault (preferred for modern architectures)

Expertise in

Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Types 1, 2, 3)

Handling hierarchical and complex relationships

Experience modelling data in Databricks Lakehouse architecture

Strong understanding of: Delta Lake (schema enforcement, evolution)

Ability to: Design Bronze, Silver, Gold layer data models

ERwin Data Modelling Tool

Advanced proficiency in ERwin Data Modeler

Experience in

Creating and maintaining enterprise data models

Performing forward and reverse engineering

Expertise in: Model versioning and change management

Ability to: Enforce data standards, naming conventions, and templates

Integration of ERwin with: Data governance and metadata tools
