An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior SAP HR Payroll Systems Analyst to join a large and complex government environment supporting critical enterprise HR systems and transformation initiatives.

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP professional with deep expertise across SAP HCM, Payroll, SuccessFactors and related HR technologies. This role will contribute to both project delivery and ongoing enhancement of enterprise HR solutions within a large-scale SAP landscape.

About the Role

As a Senior SAP HR Payroll Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in analysing business requirements, designing and implementing SAP HR solutions, supporting system enhancements, and ensuring the ongoing performance of critical HR and payroll systems.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and project delivery groups to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that align with organisational objectives and best-practice SAP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation
  • Design and configure SAP HCM and Payroll solutions
  • Develop functional specifications and support technical solution design
  • Support SAP enhancements, upgrades and system improvements
  • Perform functional validation, testing and defect management activities
  • Prepare technical and project documentation
  • Conduct quality assurance and solution reviews
  • Support integration activities across SAP and cloud-based HR platforms
  • Provide post-implementation support and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into system solutions
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and capability uplift within the broader team

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • 10+ years' experience working within SAP HR and Payroll environments
  • Extensive SAP HCM functional configuration experience
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and employment conditions
  • Experience delivering SAP solutions within large and complex organisations
  • Knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors and integrated cloud-based HR solutions
  • Experience with business process redesign, testing, data migration and system validation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to identify system gaps and develop practical solutions
  • Experience working across both project delivery and business-as-usual support environments

Highly Regarded Experience

  • Previous experience within government or highly regulated environments
  • Experience supporting large enterprise SAP implementations and upgrades
  • Understanding of organisational change and transition activities
  • Experience working with end users to gather and refine requirements

Security and Working Arrangements

  • Australian Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
  • Initial onboarding period requires full-time onsite attendance
  • Hybrid working arrangements available following onboarding, subject to operational requirements
  • Canberra-based candidates preferred, with Melbourne also considered
  • Contractors must be available to work onsite a minimum of three days per week
