Thinking about relocating to Newcastle but concerned it will be a step back for your career?
It does not need to be.
You may be from Newcastle. Your partner may be moving here. Family may be pulling you home. Or you may simply be ready for a different lifestyle outside Sydney.
At Delaney Roberts Specialist Family Lawyers, you can make that move without stepping away from complex work, high standards or serious career development.
We are one of the largest specialist Family Law teams in New South Wales outside Sydney. Our Newcastle office offers complex matters, experienced senior lawyers, strong legal support, structured development and the backing of Roberts Legal Services Group.
A good way to understand the standard of our work is to read our Google reviews. They reflect the care, professionalism and quality our clients experience. When clients are that well supported, it also says something important about the team behind the work.
This is a Senior Associate role for a Family Lawyer who wants commercially sophisticated work, a stable specialist team and a long term career in Newcastle.
About the role
You will work on a mix of parenting and property matters, including matters involving business owners, professionals, complex asset structures and high value property pools.
We are deliberate about the work we take on. Our client screening process helps ensure our lawyers are working with the right clients, on the right matters, with the right support around them.
You will manage your own files, work closely with experienced senior lawyers and be supported by a capable legal support team. You will also have regular matter reviews, 1:1s and team huddles, so you are not left to work in isolation.
In this role, you will:
- manage complex Family Law matters from commencement to resolution
- work with clients who need clear, strategic and commercially attuned advice
- appear in court and continue building your advocacy capability
- work closely with legal support to keep matters moving
- contribute to matter strategy, client experience and team performance
- mentor junior lawyers where appropriate
- continue developing your technical expertise and professional profile
Why this role is different
Delaney Roberts Specialist Family Lawyers offers something unusual in the Newcastle market.
You will have the focus and reputation of a specialist Family Law firm, with the broader support of Roberts Legal Services Group behind you. That means access to shared services, systems, marketing, operations, People & Culture, training, recognition and leadership support. It is a specialist firm environment, but not a small firm experience.
You will be part of a stable, collaborative team with high standards, strong legal support and leaders who stay close to the work.
