Electrician
Melbourne Grammar School has an exciting opportunity for Electrician to join our South Yarra Campus. Reporting to the Assistant Property Manager the Electrician works in the Maintenance team, within the broader Property Services team. The Electrician is to support the team carrying out scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance work and compliance testing to the School’s electrical infrastructure, services and building fabric. The Electrician will be required to assist with minor works projects undertaken by the Property team.
The Electrician is expected to demonstrate high standards of workmanship, a strong safety culture, and effective communication with staff, contractors and the broader school community. Paramount to this role is the ability to ensure relevant electrical compliance is achieved and maintained by the School.
This position is located at our Campus in South Yarra but may be required to work at other MGS locations from time to time.
You will
- Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across all campuses
- Complete all assigned maintenance tasks (Fixits) in a timely manner, ensuring accurate records are maintained in the CMMS
- Perform all works safely and without risk to self, colleagues, students or the public
- Undertake minor electrical works and upgrades as part of the School’s project program
- Provide input into life cycle replacement plans for the School’s electrical infrastructure and assets
- Conduct routine inspections and report findings to the Property team and provide electrical support for school events and operational requirements
Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Employee Working with Children Clearance.
