What You'll Be Doing
As a hospital switchboard operator you are required to have excellent customer service skills and will be responsible for accurate and efficient response to all calls made to and from the NBH switchboard and emergency calls.
The switchboard at Northern Beaches Hospital operates 24 hours a day requiring candidates to work a 24hr rotating roster.
We are seeking proactive individuals to join our extraordinary team on a causal basis, duties include:
- Operating hospital switchboard
- Answering incoming and outgoing calls
- Delivering assistance in a polite, clear, well-spoken and calm manner in all circumstances
- Contacting staff and emergency groups for code calls e.g. cardiac arrest and trauma groups
- Performing routine clerical duties as required by the Manager
- Providing an effective, efficient, timely and courteous service to patients, visitors, the public and staff who interact with the switchboard.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria
- Demonstrated Switchboard experience.
- Demonstrate a flexible work attitude and available to work a variety of shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced and challenging environment.
