About the role

The Workforce Operational Strategic Unit (WOSU) supports the delivery of new government workforce policy, builds resilience and deliver significant projects and programs. Work that enhances the capacity and capability of the system to meet current and future needs. The unit sits within The Workforce Planning & Talent Development Branch.
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for the coordination, management, and delivery of services and business functions of workforce initiatives lead by the Workforce Operational Strategic Unit. This includes providing advice to business units related to planning the delivery of and not limited to rural health workforce enhancements, scholarship and subsidy programs, and other projects of significance.
Health Manager Level 3, starting salary from $132,236 - $150,222 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week, work location - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.

What you will be doing
- Drive operational excellence by delivering efficient service outcomes and developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success
- Lead and manage workforce planning, providing expert support and advice to the organisation, business units and employees on workforce planning and organisational design
- Scope, plan and implement workforce initiatives, ensuring project priorities are met through integrated organisational change management strategies. Resolve issues in consultation with the Program Manager
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across NSW Health and associated organisations to support collaborative and effective workforce outcomes
- Lead and manage ad hoc organisational improvement projects, contributing professional insights and innovative solutions. Actively participate in project-related meetings and working groups, raising issues and proposing initiatives to support continuous improvement.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in a large and diverse organisation, ideally across business operations, human resources, project management, recruitment, finance or records management
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in high-volume, complex and demanding environments, with a proven capacity to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and achieve outcomes
- Experience leading and implementing change, including redesigning work systems and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, prepare clear and concise reports, respond creatively to challenges and deliver positive results
- High-level communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate and build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- A valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and a willingness to travel.
