The role

We are seeking an experienced

Team Leader Spatial and Customer Information to lead Council’s Spatial and Customer Information function through customer-focused services and accurate spatial information systems.

Reporting to the Coordinator Information Management, this role will be responsible for leading the team, managing Council’s Geographic Information System, property system and related datasets, and supporting the delivery of high-quality spatial products and services to internal and external customers.

This position also plays an important role in enhancing the customer experience through continuous improvement, service monitoring, stakeholder engagement and effective team leadership.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide effective people leadership, coaching and support to team members to achieve outcomes.
  • Lead the delivery of Council’s Spatial and Customer Information function.
  • Manage Council’s Geographic Information System and property system, including datasets, spatial analysis and related services.
  • Manage and maintain Council’s property numbering policy and process.
  • Manage and maintain Council’s Name and Address Register.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Review services, monitor service levels and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead special projects as required.

The successful applicant will have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Spatial Information, GIS or a related discipline.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience in Spatial Information related services.
  • Specialised knowledge and experience in property, GIS and related systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound collaboration and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • A demonstrated commitment to Council’s values.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $126,229 (Grade J, Step 1) plus 12% super.
