Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer / AWS Technical Lead (Contract)

Role Overview

We are seeking two senior AWS Infrastructure Engineers / AWS Technical Leads to join a large, complex enterprise environment undergoing significant platform uplift and modernisation.

You will work across multiple concurrent initiatives within a customer-facing digital and loyalty-style platform domain, supporting critical backend and integration-heavy workloads.

Program & Project Scope

You will contribute across several infrastructure-led initiatives, including backend platform uplift supporting customer and digital capabilities, integration-heavy workloads involving secure data and file movement, collaboration with architects on cloud platform design and evolution, and broader AWS infrastructure optimisation and modernisation initiatives. Project allocation will depend on experience, with exposure to multiple streams across the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of AWS infrastructure solutions
• Act as a hands-on technical lead with no direct reports
• Work closely with solution architects and cross-functional engineering teams
• Design and support secure integration and file transfer workflows (e.g. SFTP, managed file transfer)
• Ensure performance, scalability, security, and reliability of cloud platforms

Skills, Experience & Profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, AWS Engineer, or AWS Technical Lead
• Strong hands-on AWS infrastructure and configuration experience (e.g. EC2, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway & ECS/Fargate)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation; Ansible exposure beneficial)
• Exposure to secure integration or managed file transfer patterns (e.g. SFTP)
• Experience operating in large-scale or enterprise environments
