Senior Pricing Analyst - Personal Lines

About the job

The Senior Pricing Analyst will support the end-to-end pricing of our insurance products through best-in-class data analytics, modelling and implementation. The Senior Pricing Analyst is a highly technical role and ensures our insurance pricing decisions are based on robust data driven analysis and a deep understanding of risk-based pricing.

General

● Understand sources of data, its limitations, and uses within the team

● Analyse, interpret, and extrapolate data from a number of sources to resolve complex issues

● Efficiently manage and manipulate very large data sets

● Implement complex rating changes and quantify the expected impact on the portfolio

● Draw insights and provide recommendations on next steps

● Explain technical work and communicate findings to senior management

● Evaluate alternative data sources for risk rating

● Identify opportunities for improvements to risk rating data and automate analytical processes

● Assist with the development and maintenance of data assets for the wider team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

● 3+ years general insurance industry experience

● Proven analytical and problem-solving capability

● Excellent attention to detail

● Programming knowledge (e.g. BigQuery, SAS, SQL, R)

● Degree qualified in mathematics, actuarial studies or similar
