Vehicle transport operator

Randstad has partnered with a well-known public sector organisation to find reliable individuals for an immediate start. Operating out of Ballarat, this casual, part-time role requires 2–3 days of availability per week to support a regional vehicle deployment project. Offering a unique mix of regional driving, light physical work, and basic administration, it is the perfect fit if you enjoy the open road, regional travel, and have a strong eye for detail.

Location: Ballarat

Work Type: Casual (2–3 days per week, including one overnight stay within regional areas)

Duration: ASAP until 30th December

Hourly Rate: $33.48 per hour + super + meal allowances

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Vehicle Relocation: Safely transport fleet vehicles (including vans and standard cars) from workshops to various regional Victorian locations (e.g, Wodonga, Orbost, Corryong, Mallacoota).
• Regional Driving: Comfortably manage long-distance driving shifts (up to 6 hours of driving per day), including one scheduled overnight stay per week (accommodation and meal allowances provided).
• Basic Data Entry: Update vehicle tracking spreadsheets and communicate with the team via email and Microsoft Teams using a provided work phone.
• Manual Handling: Assist with basic lifting and moving of equipment in and out of vehicles (including patient stretchers and radio equipment).

What You Will Have

• Current Manual Driver’s License: High level of comfort driving manual vehicles and handling long-distance highway driving.
• Safe Driving Record: Ability to provide a recent Vic Roads driving history check.
• Reliability & Flexibility: Availability to work 2–3 days a week between the span of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, including a weekly overnight stay (shifts may vary in length depending on travel requirements)
• Comfortable with basic data entry and using smartphones for email/Teams communication.
• Capability to perform occasional lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
