Operations Manager - Electrical

Harrison McMillan has partnered with a respected commercial electrical contractor delivering major projects across the region, and are looking for a high-calibre Operations Manager to join their leadership team. This is a senior, hands-on role ideal for someone who has come up through the trade, has managed on tier 1 projects, and is ready to step up and make a real impact across the business.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing project delivery and supporting a team of 5 Project Managers across multiple commercial projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing procurement, programming, and project timelines
• Overseeing commercial performance, variations, and cost control
• Identifying and mitigating risk across projects
• Supporting, mentoring, and guiding Project Managers
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Contributing to overall operational strategy and business performance

This role will require occasional travel (approx. 1 day per month).

About You

We’re looking for a calm, experienced leader who can confidently manage competing priorities and bring structure to complex projects.

You will have:

• A trade qualification in Electrical (essential)
• Extensive experience managing Tier 1 commercial construction projects
• Proven experience in a senior leadership or operational role
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project financials
• The ability to remain calm, considered, and solutions-focused under pressure
• A willingness to be hands-on and step in where needed
