System Engineer

One of our Federal Government Clients is seeking to engage candidates for below roles

1. Contract Duration: 36 months + 12months Extension
2. Work Location: Canberra (Hybrid)
3. Eligibility: Citizen (Baseline or above clearance candidates preferred) (candidate will undergo Department's NV1 before start)
4. Working Hours: 7.5 hours a day/ 37.5 hours a week

List Of Roles

Key duties and responsibilities

• Work together with Department's business users and system administrators to improve and optimise the implementation, use and management of ICT & business solutions.

• Collaborate with Department's staff to diagnose and resolve operational and technical problems.

• Actively engage with staff to leverage solution expertise and contribute positively to expanding the Department's knowledge base.

• Actively participate in software configuration planning and management.

• Actively alert Department's management to any design, build, testing and quality risks, assumptions and dependencies that may be identified.

• Produce overall system design / implementation documentation and relevant procedures / policies.

• Enforce and adhere to all levels of compliance in the ICT environment.

• Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other teams

As part of the services, the seller must ensure the specified personnel:

• Maintains currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.

• Establishes and maintains effective business relationships and professional networks.

• Contributes to and implements improved ICT practices and procedures.

• Provides mentoring, coaching and training.

• Works effectively in a small team environment, and wider Command environment.

• Remains accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, shares own expertise with others and guides and mentors less experienced buyer employees; and

• Records and maintains files/information in accordance with buyer requirements.

Technical skills

• Technical skills candidates would need to have (including but not limited to) are listed below:
• Microsoft endpoint management and device engineering
• SOE Design, build and automation
• Identity and access management integration
• Endpoint security hardening and compliance
• Enterprise integration and modern workplace technologies
