About The Role

The Role

• Collaborating with team members to analyse and assess risks, ensuring accurate underwriting decisions
• Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements in line with your underwriting authority level
• Build strong effective relationships with brokers and clients
• Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
• Stay update to date with industry trends, regulations and best practices

Critical Competencies

• Strong analytical and mathematical ability
• Ability to underwrite in accordance with risk appetite, delegated underwriting authority, underwriting guidelines and our business licence
• Logical decision making
• Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
• Excellent computer / technical abilities
• Underwriting experience required, remuneration commensurate to experience
• Tier 2 - General Insurance qualification desirable

The head office of IIS is located in the beautiful Southern Highlands, an hour and a half southwest of Sydney, with additional offices situated in the Brisbane CBD and Christchurch NZ, with a Sydney CBD location in the works.
