Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
We are seeking a Bookings Officer to join our multidisciplinary team on a casual basis. In this role, you will support a high-performing Admissions team by ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of patient admissions and theatre bookings, while delivering a personalised and professional service to patients, clinicians and key stakeholders. As the first line of support, you will play an important role in helping create a seamless patient experience.
This is a flexible opportunity offering shifts across weekdays and weekends.

The Position
- Coordinate theatre bookings and related activities.
- Undertakes validation and quality control of all theatre bookings and liaise with theatre regarding theatre lists.
- Facilitate all aspects of theatre bookings, cancellations and rescheduling.
- Liaise with surgeons’ rooms to ensure the timely receipt of admission advice/consent forms and theatre lists
- Ensure the timely entry of theatre bookings
- Print and distribute daily theatre lists and reports as required.
- Assist with the timely notification of cancelled sessions to accredited practitioners for purpose of optimum utilisation.
- Advise surgeons of available sessions (due to cancellation) as required, and endeavour to achieve optimum utilisation.
- Report on theatre forecast and utilisation.
- Maintain and distribute accurate information relating to forecasted Theatre activity.
- Assist with conducting routine quality audits.
- Monitor patients completion of admissions paperwork and assist with appropriate action to ensure progression including health fund checks.
You will hold a relevant Medical Terminology certificate (or equivalent) and bring experience working within an admissions, bookings or administrative setting. You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and quality standards.
To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You will build positive relationships with patients, clinicians and stakeholders through a professional and compassionate approach, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and confidently managing enquiries in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Salary $39.88 - $41 per hour (casual loading included) plus 12% superannuation
