Asset Engineer - Roads

The Opportunity
We're looking for an Asset Engineer Roads to help us make smarter decisions about one of our largest and most valuable assets - our road network.
Working within our Strategic Transport Assets team, you'll combine engineering knowledge, asset data and field inspections to understand the condition and performance of our transport assets. You'll maintain and improve our asset management systems, provide technical advice, prepare reports that inform future investment, and work closely with operational teams to ensure our asset information is accurate and fit for purpose.
You'll also have the opportunity to improve systems and processes, share your knowledge with others, and help build capability across the team.
What you'll bring
- Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in road or civil infrastructure asset management.
- Knowledge of asset management systems and GIS platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into practical decisions.
- Experience preparing technical reports and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to share knowledge with others.
Salary: Salary range $98,343.39 - $114,323.99 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
3.5% Civil Liability Allowance
A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role. Council will provide you with a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price. This is a fully maintained vehicle for both business and full private use with no additional expenses in normal use.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
