Quantitative ETF Trader, Sydney

Our Client is a leading quantitative investment firm expanding its ETF trading capability in Sydney. They are seeking a highly motivated quantitative trader to join a growing team focused on systematic ETF market making and electronic trading across Asia-Pacific markets.

This is a unique opportunity to work across trading, quantitative research, and technology within a collaborative environment. As an early member of the desk, you will help develop trading strategies, enhance execution capabilities, and contribute to the evolution of the firm's ETF platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trade and manage ETF positions across Asia-Pacific markets.
  • Monitor and optimise systematic trading strategies and execution performance.
  • Research new quantitative signals and trading opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of pricing models and trading tools.
  • Work closely with researchers and engineers to improve trading systems and automation.
  • Manage trading risk, portfolio exposures, and execution quality.
  • Keep abreast of market structure changes and new ETF developments.

About You

  • 1-5 years' experience in quantitative trading, electronic trading, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an understanding of probability and risk management.
  • Experience with ETFs, Delta One products, or systematic trading is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in analysing data and working with automated trading environments.
  • Programming skills (Python and/or C++) are advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high degree of ownership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a similar quantitative discipline.
