• Produce news stories for the ABC
• Base salary $96K - $114K (paid on a pro rata basis)

The Role

The ABC is looking for a Multi-platform Producer to produce compelling stories and support the delivery of accurate, innovative and high-quality journalism across the Network Desk.

The Job

• Deliver digital-first, trusted, audience-focused journalism
• Research, produce and write accurate, conversational stories to ABC editorial standards.
• Co-ordinate with desks, bureau and newsrooms to provide content and cover breaking news across platforms.
• Create innovative stories with graphics, video and camera teams.
• Pitch ideas in daily editorial/production meetings.
• Fill in across other ABC News production roles and complete required training.
• Produce stories that reflect Australia’s cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity.

About You

You'll have:

• Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Strong editorial judgement in news/current affairs production.
• Strong research, writing and production skills, including scripting.
• Ability to write radio scripts and digital stories ready to publish.
• Understanding of digital/social platforms and audience growth.
• Collaborative approach in a busy news team.
• Strong planning, problem-solving and deadline management skills.
• Ability to build and maintain community contacts.
• Commitment to inclusive, authentic storytelling that reflects Australia’s diversity.
