At the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod, we're looking for an experience d People & Culture Advis or to join our 2025 AHRI Award-Winning People & Culture Team.

Reporting to the General Manager, People & Culture, you'll partner with leaders across Queensland to navigate complex people matters, build leadership capability, attract great talent and help create workplaces where people, communities and ministries can thrive. The Uniting Church in Australia is one of Australia's largest Christian denominations, serving communities through worship, education, early childhood services, community services and social justice initiatives. About the Role

As a People & Culture Advisor, you'll provide end-to-end advisory and recruitment support across the Synod Office, Presbyteries, Congregations and our Mission Enterprises. You'll work closely with leaders to provide practical, timely and risk-aware advice while helping deliver an outstanding employee and candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide trusted People & Culture advisory services across the employee life cycle.
• Partner with leaders on employee relations, performance management and workforce practices.
• Lead employee relations case management, including conduct, grievance and underperformance matters.
• Conduct workplace investigations, including interviews, evidence assessment and report preparation.
• Facilitate mediation and workplace resolution processes.
• Manage fitness-for-work and related case management matters.
• Deliver end-to-end recruitment support, from attraction through to appointment.
• Develop engaging recruitment campaigns and support employer branding initiatives.
• Promote opportunities through LinkedIn and other talent attraction channels.
• Build leadership capability through coaching and practical people management support.
• Contribute to People & Culture projects and initiatives that enhance culture, engagement and employee experience.
• Identify opportunities to improve People & Culture services, systems and processes.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, People & Culture, you'll work closely with senior leaders and have genuine opportunities to influence leadership capability, culture and employee experience across the organisation.

About You

You'll be a confident HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and navigating complex people matters with empathy, professionalism and sound judgement.

You'll bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
• Experience in People & Culture advisory, HR partnering or employee relations roles.
• Strong employee relations and case management experience.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations.
• End-to-end recruitment experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset.
• The ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes.
• A commitment to working within the purpose and values of the Uniting Church.
• Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to undertake occasional intrastate travel when required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
