The end client operates within a large, enterprise-scale environment requiring robust infrastructure delivery, strong governance, operational excellence and secure technology transformation. The role will suit someone experienced in complex stakeholder environments across sectors such as government, utilities, banking, healthcare, telecommunications or other regulated industries.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Delivery Lead to take ownership of end-to-end delivery, governance, operational management and transformation of enterprise infrastructure services. This role will lead large-scale infrastructure programmes, including Data Centre migrations, infrastructure modernisation, cloud and hybrid platform initiatives, disaster recovery, cyber security, operational support and service transformation.

You will act as a key liaison between customer stakeholders, infrastructure teams, vendors and executive leadership to ensure successful delivery, operational stability and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of enterprise infrastructure services across compute, storage, backup, virtualisation, network, security, monitoring and workplace services.
  • Drive service excellence aligned to contracted SLAs, KPIs, availability and performance targets.
  • Establish delivery governance, executive reporting, risk management and continual service improvement frameworks.
  • Lead large-scale Data Centre migration programmes from planning through to post-migration stabilisation.
  • Develop migration strategies across physical, virtual, cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Manage infrastructure assessments, architecture reviews, planning workshops, migration runbooks, cutover execution and hypercare activities.
  • Coordinate application, infrastructure, security, vendor and business teams during migration initiatives.
  • Review and approve infrastructure architecture and design artefacts, ensuring solutions meet security, performance, resilience, scalability and compliance requirements.
  • Lead ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem, Change, Capacity, Availability, Configuration and Service Request Management processes.
  • Drive observability, monitoring, automation and AIOps adoption across the infrastructure environment.
  • Partner with cyber security teams to manage vulnerabilities, patching, remediation, compliance and audit obligations.
  • Manage third-party suppliers, cloud providers, datacentre providers and managed service partners.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary infrastructure team across Windows, Linux, VMware, network, security, storage, backup, service management, cloud and automation disciplines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 12+ years’ experience in Infrastructure Services and Technology Delivery.
  • Minimum 5+ years leading enterprise infrastructure delivery teams.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale Data Centre migration programmes — mandatory.
  • Experience managing complex infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise platforms.
  • Strong background across Infrastructure Operations and Managed Services environments.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor delivery ecosystems.
  • Strong customer-facing and executive stakeholder management experience.
  • Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Must be Sydney-based or willing to relocate to Sydney.

Technical Skills

Infrastructure: Windows Server, Linux/RHEL, VMware, storage platforms, enterprise backup solutions, network infrastructure, load balancers, Citrix and compute platforms.

Cloud & Automation: Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, infrastructure automation, monitoring and observability platforms, and AIOps platforms.

Service Management: ITIL Service Management, ServiceNow, Incident, Change and Problem Management, CMDB and Asset Management.

Security: Infrastructure security, vulnerability management, security operations, disaster recovery and business continuity.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • GovDC migration experience.
  • Government or critical infrastructure sector experience.
  • Hybrid cloud and cloud transformation experience.
  • Experience transitioning services between providers or datacentres.
  • Service Delivery leadership within large Managed Services engagements.

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

Preferred

  • ITIL Foundation / ITIL Expert
  • Microsoft Azure certifications
  • VMware certifications
  • PMP / PRINCE2 certification
  • TOGAF or Infrastructure Architecture certifications
