Senior Environmental Consultant
ALRA | Australia’s Leading Recruitment Agency
- $120,000 - $145,000 + Super + 25% Company Profit Share
- Own client relationships and influence strategy, not just deliver reports
- Boutique consultancy with national capability, major projects and zero bureaucracy
As a Project Manager | Senior Environmental Scientist, you'll join a boutique national consultancy that combines the project diversity and technical capability of a much larger business, without the layers of management, bureaucracy or internal politics that often come with it.
You'll become a trusted advisor to your clients, helping them develop practical contaminated land strategies, solve complex problems and make informed decisions. You'll have genuine influence over projects, client relationships and the future direction of the business, while being recognised and rewarded for your contribution.
The bonus structure is genuinely exceptional, with 25% of company profits distributed amongst employees. For many, it has delivered bonuses exceeding those earned by Principals at some of Australia's largest consultancies.
Importantly though, this role isn't designed to attract someone chasing bonuses alone. It suits someone who enjoys quality consulting, building long-term client relationships and taking pride in delivering outstanding work, with the profit share becoming a significant reward for doing exactly that.
The Role
You'll manage contaminated land projects from proposal through to completion while acting as the key contact for your portfolio of clients.
Your work will include:
- Project Management across Preliminary & Detailed Site Investigations (PSI/DSI)
- Remediation planning, validation and contaminated land strategy
- Managing large Council portfolios and infrastructure clients
- Groundwater investigations and contamination assessments
- Providing practical technical advice directly to clients
- Building trusted client relationships and becoming their first point of contact
- Mentoring junior consultants throughout project delivery
- Working closely with Directors to influence technical direction and business growth
The project mix is considerably more interesting than many boutique consultancies.
Rather than becoming stuck completing repetitive waste classification work, you'll be involved in major contaminated land investigations across Rail, Property Development, Local Government and significant Infrastructure projects throughout NSW.
Travel forms part of the role, with occasional trips away providing exposure to a wider variety of projects and clients than you'd typically see within a metropolitan-only consultancy.
The Team
The business has built a reputation for producing high-quality technical work whilst maintaining the agility and culture that larger consultancies often lose as they grow.
You'll work alongside experienced consultants in a collaborative, high-performing environment where ideas are welcomed, contribution is recognised and people are trusted to do what they do best.
There is genuine opportunity to influence how projects are delivered, strengthen client relationships and help shape the future of the business as it continues to grow.
Experience
- Around 8+ years within Contaminated Land consulting
- Strong Project Management experience across PSI, DSI and remediation projects
- Experience managing clients and project budgets
- Confidence mentoring junior consultants
- Relevant Environmental Science, Engineering or similar qualification
- Australian consulting experience and full working rights
