Head of Design Technology
Build Px
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced design technology leader to step into a senior practice-wide role with one of Australia’s leading architecture and design practices.
The role will suit someone who sits at the intersection of design, technology, innovation and delivery. You may come from an architecture, computational design, digital design, BIM, design technology or innovation background, but what matters most is your ability to lead technology as a genuine design enabler.
This is not a traditional BIM Manager role. It is a broader leadership opportunity focused on how technology can strengthen design thinking, improve project delivery, support front-end exploration, connect workflows and build capability across a highly regarded design practice.
The successful candidate will help shape the practice’s approach to design technology across early-stage design, computational workflows, digital delivery, automation, data, AI and emerging tools.
The Opportunity
This Role Will Give You The Opportunity To
- Lead design technology strategy across a nationally and internationally recognised design practice.
- Work closely with senior design, project and practice leaders.
- Influence how technology supports design from early concept thinking through to delivery.
- Drive capability across Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, BIM, automation, AI, data and connected workflows.
- Support the integration of front-end design tools with project delivery platforms.
- Identify, test and implement emerging technologies that improve design quality, efficiency and collaboration.
- Build frameworks, standards and workflows that support consistency without limiting creativity.
- Lead, mentor and influence design technology specialists, project teams and senior stakeholders.
- Support major projects across Queensland, Australia and internationally connected studios.
- Help designers and project teams adopt technology in a practical, meaningful and design-led way.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement.
This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone who has already established themselves as a design technology leader and is now looking for a broader platform, greater influence and the opportunity to shape technology across a leading design practice.
