Manufacturing Manager
MASPRO
Shape the future of manufacturing with us.
At MASPRO, we do not just make parts; we engineer solutions that keep hard rock mining moving. We are proudly Australian owned, designing and manufacturing high-performance drill components that outlast and outperform industry standards. We thrive on grit, passion and humility, embracing challenges with a solutions-focused mindset. Innovation drives us, collaboration fuels us, and our commitment to quality sets us apart.
As we continue to grow MASPRO is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead safe, reliable, high-quality and cost-effective manufacturing.
This newly created role is broader than day-to-day production management. Reporting to the Director of Operations and contributing as part of MASPRO' s leadership team, you will take ownership of manufacturing, lead through department managers and become the clear point of accountability for performance and operational issues across both sites.
Your early mandate will be to align departments around shared priorities, establish M1 as the reliable source of truth and create clear visibility of production, inventory, capacity, labour and overtime. Just as importantly, you will earn the confidence of experienced managers and teams, bringing them with you as expectations, systems and ways of working evolve.
We are looking for a Sydney, NSW based manufacturing leader who is comfortable travelling regularly, primarily based at Wetherill Park, Sydney with regular travel to Condobolin, NSW, being visible where the work happens. You will bring technical credibility and commercial judgement: someone humble enough to listen, confident enough to challenge constructively, and trusted to advise leaders and teams through change.
This is also a genuine long-term succession opportunity. For a high-performing leader who earns trust and grows with MASPRO, there is potential over time to step into broader operational leadership.
Key accountabilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of manufacturing performance.
- Align department managers and teams around one plan, clear priorities and shared accountability for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Establish M1 as the single source of truth, strengthening scheduling, job data, routings and operational reporting while removing off-system workarounds.
- Create reliable visibility of capacity, resources and performance by department, including clear operational metrics and forecasts.
- Align lot sizes and production activity with demand forecasts and inventory requirements, ensuring the right products are made at the right time.
- Bring discipline to workforce planning and overtime, ensuring additional labour is supported by clear capacity and customer requirements.
- Own manufacturing issues and coordinate timely responses to component, process, quality and equipment failures.
- Lead and develop department managers, strengthen succession and build capability so performance is not dependent on key individuals.
- Drive practical productivity improvement, equipment reliability and, over time, consistent operating standards across both sites.
- Partner across Sales, Inventory, Procurement, Engineering, Finance and People & Culture to support customer and commercial outcomes.
What you'll bring
- Significant manufacturing leadership experience gained in a similar environment - heavy equipment, engineering, mining supply, rail, automotive or another disciplined manufacturing environment.
- Proven success leading multiple departments, experienced managers and sizeable operational teams; multi-site experience is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, quality, systems discipline, cost performance and workforce capability.
- Strong operational and commercial judgement across production planning, capacity, inventory, labour, overtime, maintenance and cost.
- Essential experience using a manufacturing ERP to manage scheduling, production, routings, job data and reporting; M1 is highly regarded.
- A relevant trade, engineering, manufacturing or operations qualification, or substantial equivalent experience.
- A current unrestricted driver's licence, Australian work authorisation and the flexibility to travel regularly between Wetherill Park, Sydney and Condobolin, NSW.
This is a full-time permanent position based at Wetherill Park, Sydney. During the first six months, you should expect to spend approximately one full week each month in Condobolin, NSW potentially more while you build relationships and operational understanding. The travel cadence is expected to reduce once strong systems and rhythms are established, although ongoing flexibility will remain important.
