Contract type: Full time

Technology governance should help an organisation move faster, not slower. That's the philosophy underpinning this opportunity at I-MED Radiology Network.

About I-MED Radiology Network

I-MED Radiology Network is one of the world's largest providers of medical imaging services, performing around six million patient procedures each year through a network of more than 200 clinics across Australia and New Zealand.

With more than 350 doctors and approximately 4,000 employees, technology underpins every aspect of the business. As I-MED continues investing in technology and emerging capabilities, cyber security, resilience and governance play an increasingly important role in supporting clinicians, patients and operations across its national network.

The Opportunity

This leadership role spans cyber security, technology risk, governance and organisational resilience across the enterprise. You will manage a small team (1.5 FTE).

Rather than leading Security Operations, you'll provide independent Line 2 oversight, helping ensure cyber security is embedded into technology and business decision-making across the organisation. You'll work closely with Technology, Enterprise Risk, Legal and senior stakeholders to strengthen governance, assess technology risk, improve resilience and provide practical advice that supports better business outcomes.

You'll play a key role in maturing I-MED's cyber capability by developing strategy, evolving the Information Security Management System and strengthening third-party assurance. You'll also support AI and data governance and provide clear reporting to executive and governance forums.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering I-MED's cyber security strategy
  • Leading technology risk, governance and organisational resilience
  • Evolving the Information Security Management System
  • Strengthening third-party assurance and secure-by-design practices
  • Supporting AI and data governance and emerging technology initiatives
  • Enhancing executive cyber and governance reporting
  • Partnering with Technology, Enterprise Risk, Legal and business leaders to strengthen resilience, assurance and technology risk management

Why This Role Is Different

Many Head of Cyber Security roles are centred around leading Security Operations or managing large operational teams.

This role is different.

Security Operations, cyber engineering and incident response sit within Platform Engineering, allowing you to focus on what a true Line 2 function should do: providing independent oversight, strengthening governance, influencing technology decisions and ensuring cyber security is considered early rather than after decisions have already been made.

You'll work closely with Technology, Enterprise Risk, Legal and the Executive Leadership Team, helping shape enterprise risk, organisational resilience, emerging technologies and AI governance while maintaining the independence expected of a governance function.

About You

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience leading cyber security, technology risk or information security within a complex enterprise environment.
  • A strong background in cyber governance, technology risk, resilience and security strategy, with the ability to improve organisational maturity over time.
  • The credibility to influence executive stakeholders and build trusted relationships across Technology, Risk, Legal and the broader business.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex cyber and technology risks into practical business advice.
  • A collaborative, commercially minded approach, balancing strong governance with enabling the organisation to move forward.
  • Experience uplifting maturity against industry frameworks such as ISO27001 or NIST.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or equivalent will be highly regarded.

Why Join I-MED?

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where cyber security is viewed as a business enabler rather than simply a compliance requirement.

You'll work alongside an executive team committed to long-term investment in technology, with the autonomy to influence meaningful decisions across a nationally significant healthcare organisation.

Rather than operating within layers of hierarchy, you'll have the opportunity to see the direct impact of your work by shaping better technology decisions, improving resilience and helping technology deliver better outcomes for clinicians, patients and the broader business.

The role offers:

  • Hybrid working with the flexibility to work from home 2–3 days per week
  • Occasional interstate travel to support clinics and engage with key stakeholders
  • Highly attractive salary package plus short-term incentive
  • The opportunity to influence technology outcomes across one of Australia's largest healthcare providers
