You'll manage complex life, disability and income protection claims while delivering exceptional member experiences through a holistic and compassionate approach. Working within ART Life Operations, you'll apply your technical expertise, support positive claim outcomes, mentor colleagues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery for our members.

As a Senior Claims Manager, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims from investigation through to assessment and decision-making. You'll play an important role in supporting members through challenging life events while balancing commercial, regulatory and member outcomes.
You'll bring a proactive and holistic approach to claims management, engaging openly and respectfully with members and stakeholders to understand the medical, social and personal impacts of injury or illness. You'll also provide technical guidance, coaching and support to team members, helping uplift capability across the broader claims function.
Along the way, you'll have opportunities to identify process improvements, contribute to operational efficiencies, and help build a collaborative and supportive team culture focused on delivering excellent member outcomes.
This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney. We also have fixed term opportunities if you'd prefer.
Responsibilities
Day to day, you'll:
- Manage a portfolio of complex life, disability and income protection claims.
- Develop and implement proactive claims management strategies that support positive member outcomes.
- Engage with members to understand the broader impacts of illness or injury and provide informed support.
- Collaborate with employers, medical professionals & other stakeholders to gather details and progress claims.
- Provide timely claim updates, action plans and verbal and written claim decisions.
- Prepare claim submissions within your delegated authority.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and organisational standards.
- Coach and mentor colleagues to strengthen claims management capability.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You have demonstrated experience in holistic claims management.
- Your background includes life and/or disability insurance claims management.
- You'll have experience working with Early Intervention Services, Rehabilitation, Community Services or related health and medical services.
- You're confident managing complex claims portfolios and balancing competing priorities.
- You have experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders in sensitive situations.
- Your ability to coach, mentor and support others helps build team capability.
- You'll hold a tertiary qualification in a related discipline, or bring equivalent industry experience.
- You're committed to delivering exceptional member experiences while maintaining compliance and quality standards.
