Biology Expert (Masters/PhDs)
Alignerr
Biology Expert (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your years of biology training — the late nights in the lab, the deep dives into genetics and molecular mechanisms, the hard-won expertise — could directly shape how AI reasons about life science for millions of people?
We're looking for Biology Masters and PhD holders to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models. You'll design and solve advanced biology problems, pressure-test AI reasoning against real scientific standards, and ensure that the next generation of AI thinks rigorously about the life sciences.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for scientists who want to do meaningful, intellectually engaging work — on their own schedule.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
- Apply deep expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines to design challenging problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, rigor, and clarity
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and other domain experts to enhance AI model reasoning
- Ensure depth, precision, and scientific integrity across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, etc.)
- Possess deep, demonstrable expertise in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
- Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or data analysis purposes
- Exceptionally clear communicator — both in written explanations and scientific reasoning
- Detail-oriented and methodical, with high standards for accuracy and rigor
- Fluent in English and currently based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows
- Background in computational biology, systems biology, or genomics
- Experience writing or reviewing scientific literature, grant applications, or technical documentation
- Familiarity with AI tools or large language model outputs as an end user
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work
- Put your advanced degree to work on problems that matter — shaping how AI understands biology
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
