Security Architect

We're partnering with a growing Australian InsurTech business undergoing significant transformation across cloud, security, and digital platforms. They are seeking a Security Architect to help shape and mature their security capability.

This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative engineering-led environment where you'll play a key role in designing secure-by-design solutions across Azure and hybrid cloud environments while influencing security strategy across the broader business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise security architectures across Azure and hybrid environments.
• Drive security uplift initiatives across identity, cloud, infrastructure and application domains.
• Develop and maintain Zero Trust, identity and access management, and cloud security strategies.
• Partner closely with engineering, infrastructure and leadership teams to embed security into products and platforms.
• Lead threat modelling activities and architecture reviews.
• Define and implement security controls aligned to frameworks including ISO27001, Essential 8, NIST and APRA CPS 234.
• Provide guidance across security operations, risk management and compliance initiatives.
• Support the ongoing evolution of cloud security capabilities, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Entra ID.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across technology and the wider business.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Security Architect who enjoys operating across strategy and execution. You'll be equally comfortable presenting to executives as you are rolling up your sleeves to solve technical challenges.

You'll bring

• 10+ years of experience across Cyber Security, Cloud Security or Security Architecture.
• Strong experience across Microsoft technologies including Azure, Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel and Conditional Access.
• Experience designing secure cloud architectures across Azure and/or AWS.
• Exposure to Zero Trust, SASE, IAM and modern security practices.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks including ISO27001, NIST, Essential 8 and APRA CPS 234.
• Experience working within regulated environments such as Financial Services, Insurance or Banking.
• Previous experience leading security transformation or uplift programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, SABSA or TOGAF.
• Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms (Sentinel, Splunk).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices.
• Exposure to SaaS or product-led environments.
