At least three years of relevant experience

Must have a trade certificate

Read, write and understand English

Must be able to

  • Read technical drawings
  • Design and fabricate Sheetmetal products, such as HVAC ducting, cladding including lobster-backs, piping and tubing
  • Use bench top tools and equipment
  • Use hand tools
  • Use Machine tools for ductwork manufacture
  • Be able to weld stainless steel ductwork (tig/mig)
  • Be able to Stick weld metal (light fabrication)
  • Be able to use CNC Vulcan / Camduct for ductwork entry into the computer
  • Be able to use a drafting package
  • Have basic computer literacy skills
  • Take site measures
  • Be able to obtain a police clearance / defence clearance
  • Be able to pour Polyurethane foam insulation for pipework cladding

Requirements

Below would be an advantage.

  • Be able to use the balometer for air balancing
  • Understand the SMACNA standards in relation to ductwork manufacture
  • Have a forklift licence
  • White Card
  • Working at heights
  • 1st Aid certificate
