We have exciting opportunity to lead a team of structural engineering professionals.
As the Structural Team Lead you will be responsible for leading a team of structural engineers and drafters in the delivery of projects across a wide range of sectors including Seniors Living / Aged Care, Aviation, Retail, Education, Industrial, Commercial and Residential.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate allocation of team resources, both internal and external, to successfully deliver services to client requirements and add value to client projects.
- Be responsible for monitoring forecast and delivery of budgets for the team
- Lead the delivery of projects in conjunction with providing guidance / oversight to others delivering projects within the team
- Contribute to the leadership and direction of the group, including attendance at regular Senior Leadership Team meetings
- Review the structural designs prepared by others for compliance with project requirements, standards and codes of practice.
- Provide timely technical leadership to the team to ensure technical excellence in design and documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of fee proposals and submissions and contribute to the development, growth and expansion of Inertia’s portfolio of clients and projects.
- Provide leadership to a team of approx. 8-10 Engineers and Drafters including undertaking regular 1on1’s, goal setting and performance reviews.
About you
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years industry experience.
- Demonstrated and proven experience in managing a range of structural projects of varying size and complexity.
- Strong business & financial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret, summarise, resolve and report.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to influence and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Relevant industry membership – MIEAust, CPENG, RPEQ
