We are seeking an experienced

Practice Manager to join our busy GP practice in Hornsby. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and has excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and reception staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice Management: Oversee reception workflows, daily operations and staff rostering.
  • Billing & Medicare Compliance: Manage daily reconciliation of Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and private billings using Best Practice software.
  • Policies & Procedures: Develop and implement practice policies that meet accreditation standards while identifying opportunities to improve processes and support business growth.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train and support non-clinical staff, coordinate clinical and administrative meetings, and manage communications with external agencies and service providers.
  • Front Office Management: Monitor and order office supplies to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Complaints Resolution: Respond to patient and staff complaints appropriately, escalating matters to management where required.
  • Reception Support: Assist with general front desk reception duties as needed.
  • Practice Development: Liaise with the local PHN to ensure the practice remains up to date with relevant legislation, guidelines and industry initiatives.

About You You Will Have

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation, delegation and patient advocacy abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills, including leading by example, delegating tasks, resolving team conflicts and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • A professional, confident and positive attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or a minimum of 2 years' experience in practice management.
  • Sound knowledge of MBS, Medicare incentive programs (PIP and PNIP), DVA, WorkCover and private billing.
  • Strong understanding of business and financial principles to support strategic practice growth.
  • Proficiency with Best Practice software.
