Lead What Comes Next

Gympie Regional Council is seeking a Coordinator Growth Management to join the Strategic Planning and Growth team on a full time, two year fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Planning and Growth, you'll coordinate Council's Growth Management Program and lead strategic planning projects that support sustainable regional development.

You'll oversee structure planning, land supply analysis, growth sequencing and strategic investigations while working closely with internal teams, consultants and external stakeholders to ensure future growth is supported by well planned infrastructure and coordinated development outcomes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading the development and implementation of Council's Growth Management Strategy
• Coordinating structure plans and development frameworks for priority growth areas
• Managing strategic planning projects from planning through to delivery
• Providing expert advice on land supply, development sequencing and future growth opportunities
• Contributing to the Planning Scheme and other strategic planning documents
• Working collaboratively with infrastructure, finance and asset management teams to align planning outcomes
• Building strong relationships with State Government agencies, developers, utilities and industry stakeholders
• Monitoring development activity and planning trends to support informed decision making
• Preparing reports and recommendations for senior leadership and Council
• Coordinating consultants and providing technical leadership across growth management projects.

Bring Your Expertise

You are an experienced planner who enjoys working on projects that create lasting value for communities.

You combine strong technical knowledge with excellent communication skills and enjoy collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver practical planning outcomes.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Bring

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Urban Planning, Development Management or a related discipline
• Experience in growth management, strategic planning or land use planning
• Experience in the development of Master Plans and negotiation of Infrastructure Agreements
• Experience in working with the State Government on the development of Master Plans
• Strong knowledge of Queensland's planning legislation and planning frameworks
• Experience managing complex planning projects involving multiple stakeholders
• Excellent communication, relationship building and report writing skills
• The ability to provide clear advice to senior leaders and elected representatives
• A current Queensland C Class Driver Licence or the ability to obtain one.

Experience in infrastructure planning, project budgeting or State Government funded planning programs will be highly regarded.
