We’re Hiring | Multiple Roles – Project Manager (EL1 equivalent)

We’re seeking experienced Project Managers to join a high‑impact program delivering meaningful, enterprise‑grade initiatives within a government environment.

  • Location: ACT (Onsite)
  • Start Date: Wednesday, 01 July 2026
  • Contract: 12 months with up to 2 × 12‑month extensions
  • Experience level: EL1 equivalent
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance (Prefer Active Clearance )
  • Working arrangements: Onsite
  • Flexible work: Remote arrangements may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis, subject to business needs. Candidates must clearly state their preferred work location if outside ACT/Canberra

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, cross‑agency collaborations and service providers
  • Research, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate complex project and program initiatives
  • Negotiate and engage with stakeholders to ensure effective communication, coordination and collaboration
  • Identify and resolve project‑related risks, issues and challenges
  • Provide project management, coordination, governance and assurance for complex projects
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams in an agile environment to deliver agreed outcomes
  • Represent the team and branch in project governance forums and provide clear, up‑to‑date reporting on project status and risks
  • Oversee project resources to build a high‑performing, motivated and well‑developed team
  • Apply project management best practices across risk, quality, financial management, procurement, strategy, resourcing and post‑implementation reviews

Essential criteria

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience leading complex ICT projects and programs in Federal Government.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners, cross-agency collaborations and service providers.
  • Experience with/ and application of project management frameworks and methodologies including waterfall and Hybrid Agile.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including Departmental Executive.
