Senior Estimator Opportunity | Leading T2 Headcontractor

Redpath is currently partnered with a leading Tier 2 head contractor that is seeking a seasoned Senior Estimator to join their team in Sydney, NSW.

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected contractor and play a key role within their estimating team, working across a diverse range of projects nationally and supporting the delivery of complex builds across multiple sectors.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced estimating team, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing accurate hard dollar tenders from concept through to submission.
• Developing cost plans throughout the project lifecycle.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
• Working closely with clients, consultants and internal delivery teams to achieve the best project outcomes.
• Supporting the wider pre-construction function on a variety of bids and negotiated opportunities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contracting environment.
• Strong technical estimating capability, with experience delivering detailed cost plans and hard dollar tenders from first principles.
• Demonstrated experience pricing complex projects across sectors such as health, commercial, industrial, data centres and education.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project specifications, design documentation and buildability considerations.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural and services drawings, identify project risks, and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Experience managing subcontractor engagement, reviewing trade packages, analysing quotes and negotiating competitive pricing.
• High attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate estimates within tight tender deadlines.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify cost opportunities, risks and potential project constraints.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to work closely with pre-construction teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
