We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to work alongside leading AI research labs — designing and solving complex, multi-disciplinary problems that push the boundaries of what AI can do. Your academic rigour and research instincts won't just sit on a shelf here. They'll be at the core of training the next generation of cutting-edge AI.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built around your schedule. Whether you're between positions, currently researching, or looking for meaningful work alongside your existing commitments, this is an opportunity to apply your expertise at the frontier of AI development.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and critically review advanced, multi-disciplinary problems with real-world and academic relevance
  • Apply your research expertise to design complex problem statements that challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance model performance
  • Ensure academic rigour, depth, and clarity across all deliverables
  • Contribute to projects spanning a wide range of STEM and technical domains

Who You Are

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in a STEM or highly technical field from a leading university
  • Have a strong track record in research, publications, or complex technical project management
  • Bring exceptional written communication skills and a sharp eye for precision and detail
  • Thrive working independently on intellectually demanding problems
  • Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI evaluation systems
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages
  • Familiarity with AI model training, benchmarking, or RLHF workflows
