The Team
McCullough Robertson’s Finance team brings together exceptional people and deep technical capability, establishing the firm as a recognised leader in the Australian market. The team recently achieved the highest rating of any law firm in a panel review conducted by one of Australia’s four major domestic banks and has earnt a reputation of consistently meeting expectations with commercial acumen that is second to none.
The team acts for banks, non-bank lenders, corporate borrowers and government entities, with a strong focus on understanding their clients’ strategic and commercial objectives. Renowned for quality, efficiency and value for money, McCullough Robertson holds panel appointments with many of Australia’s leading banks and financiers.
The Sydney finance team is led by two highly regarded partners and is supported by a collaborative group of exceptional lawyers across multiple levels across Sydney and Brisbane. While based in Sydney, the role is a national one and there will also be opportunities to work with our two highly regarded Brisbane based partners. The Role
Due to recent growth, we are seeking a proactive Senior Associate to join our close-knit Sydney team.
In this role, you will work on a broad range of high-quality banking and finance matters for a diverse client base including major banks, non-bank lenders, and corporate borrowers. Your work will span a wide range of sectors including residential and commercial real estate, food and agribusiness, healthcare, education, resources, government, and technology.
You will play a key role advising on all aspects of finance transactions, including structuring, due diligence, facility and security documentation, legislative and regulatory compliance, and complex advisory work. As a senior member of the team, you will also have direct client contact, contribute to transaction management, and mentor junior lawyers. You will also be involved with our business development activities and, if you are so inclined, we will actively support, contribute to and participate in your own business development plans.
Experience
As the successful candidate, you will be a motivated and capable senior associate with between seven and ten years of post-admission experience. You will bring a strong background working in banking and finance transactions, sound technical expertise, and a genuine interest in building your expertise in this area.
You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, confidence in developing strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. In addition, you will be proactive and driven, with a clear desire to further develop your leadership capability and contribute at a senior level within the team.
