In this role, you'll work with a collaborative team to analyse trends, build and enhance pricing models, and support strategies that deliver value for both customers and the business. You'll partner with teams across Pricing, Portfolio, Product and Data to turn insights into action, identify opportunities, and help ensure risks are priced accurately.
This is a 12-month max-term full-time role based in Naarm (Melbourne) or Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).
What You'll Do
- Analyse pricing and portfolio data to identify trends, risks and opportunities that support better business decisions
- Support the development, implementation and enhancement of technical pricing models across insurance products
- Contribute to commercial pricing strategies and help monitor pricing performance and outcomes
- Work closely with stakeholders across Pricing, Portfolio, Product, Data and Reserving teams to deliver insights and solutions
- Use analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R and SQL to solve complex business problems
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support pricing governance, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure robust and effective pricing practices
What You'll Bring
- A background in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or another quantitative field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data and turn insights into action
- Experience with analytical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, SAS or VBA
- Ideally, 2+ years' experience in general insurance pricing or a similar quantitative environment
- An interest in pricing, analytics and using data to solve real business challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and insights to a range of stakeholders
- A collaborative mindset, curiosity to learn, and the ability to quickly pick up technical pricing concepts and methodologies
