The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Operational Lead to support the Head of HSEQ in driving excellence across our integrated management systems and operational safety practices.

This is a hands-on, influential role where you’ll partner closely with State Managers and project teams across South and Western Australia to ensure compliance, improve performance, and embed a proactive HSEQ culture across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

Auditing & Risk Management

  • Lead internal and external audits, investigations, and incident reviews
  • Support site inspections and peer audits across all projects

Compliance & Systems

  • Maintain and improve integrated management systems aligned to ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and client requirements
  • Contribute to system updates, documentation and continuous improvement

Reporting & Insights

  • Produce HSEQ reports with actionable insights and performance data
  • Support client reporting requirements

Incident Prevention & Investigation

  • Analyse incident trends and recommend prevention strategies
  • Lead investigations into MTIs, LTIs and serious incidents
  • Present findings and improvement initiatives to leadership

Training & Capability Building

  • Develop and deliver HSEQ training and onboarding programs
  • Support operational teams in systems such as Procore and 1Breadcrumb

Operational Support

  • Assist with HSEQ Management Plans, ITPs and project documentation
  • Facilitate risk reviews and monitor contractor compliance
  • Support wellbeing initiatives and safety culture programs

Certifications & Governance

  • Support maintenance of ISO and industry certifications (AS/NZS, OFSC)
  • Assist with legal registers and governance processes

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
  • ISO Lead Auditor certification
  • ICAM or Taproot investigation training
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in a similar HSEQ role within construction

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of WHS & environmental legislation
  • Experience with integrated management systems
  • Familiarity with systems such as Procore and Breadcrumb

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Influential leader with a passion for safety and continuous improvement

Other Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence
  • Willingness to travel as required
