Our client is a leading not-for-profit aged care organisation with a strong community heritage and a commitment to delivering high-quality care, dignity and support to the community. Operating across multiple communities and supported home care services, the organisation has experienced significant growth, including recent expansion into South Australia. With a workforce of approximately 1,000+ employees, the organisation supports a diverse workforce across corporate functions, clinical teams, care services, hospitality, lifestyle and operational roles.
As a 24/7 care provider operating in a highly regulated environment, the organisation manages complex workforce requirements including multiple industrial instruments, award interpretation, payroll governance and workforce compliance. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Operations Manager to strengthen HR operations, optimise systems and support the next phase of growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director – People, Learning & Culture, the HR Operations Manager will play a key role in rebuilding and enhancing the HR Operations function.
This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role, responsible for improving HR operational effectiveness, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and delivering practical solutions across systems, payroll, workforce processes and employee experience.
The successful candidate will lead a team environment that includes payroll operations and a dedicated HR systems specialist, partnering closely with People & Culture, Finance, village leaders and operational stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
HR Systems & Dayforce Optimisation
A key focus of the role will be driving improvements across the organisation’s Dayforce HCM platform, including:
- Partnering with internal stakeholders and specialist resources to optimise system functionality
- Improving payroll reporting and data accuracy
- Resolving system and process challenges
- Supporting greater user adoption across operational teams
- Enhancing HR reporting capability and workforce insights
- Supporting future system expansion and implementation initiatives
Payroll & Workforce Operations Leadership
You will oversee payroll operations and support continuous improvement across a complex workforce environment, including:
- Leading payroll processes and supporting team capability
- Improving payroll accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness
- Managing workforce data and reporting requirements
- Supporting compliance with relevant industrial instruments
- Partnering with Finance and operational leaders to resolve workforce issues
HR Operations Improvement & Governance
You will drive improvements across core HR operations including:
- HR policies and procedures
- Employee life-cycle processes
- Workforce reporting and analytics
- Remuneration reviews
- HR compliance and governance
- Process improvement initiatives
- Data quality and integrity
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
A key priority will be rebuilding trust and strengthening relationships across the organisation.
You will:
- Build strong partnerships with village leaders and operational teams
- Provide visible and accessible HR support
- Improve communication and responsiveness
- Translate HR requirements into practical business solutions
- Support a positive employee experience across the organisation
About You
You are an experienced HR Operations leader who combines strong technical capability with a genuine passion for people and culture.
Strong HR Operations Experience
- Experience leading HR operations functions within a complex organisation
- Experience managing payroll operations and workforce processes
- Strong understanding of employee life-cycle management, compliance and governance
- Experience improving HR processes and operating models
Systems & Transformation Capability
- Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Dayforce, or similar enterprise systems
- Exposure to HR technology implementation, optimisation or transformation projects
- Strong reporting and data analysis capability
- Ability to identify issues, test solutions and drive continuous improvement
Relationship-Focused Leadership Style

Work Arrangement
The role will initially require five days per week on-site during the probation period to support relationship building, team connection and successful transition. Following successful on-boarding, hybrid flexibility may be available.
