About The Position

This position is to support the Hospitality Manager in the running of Council’s hospitality and events functions based at the Art Gallery Café and Aquatic Centre. This position will provide high-quality customer service, prepare and serve food and beverages including barista duties, assist with front-of-house operations and ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, efficient service and professional customer service at all times, engaging positively with customers to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere
  • Prepare and serve a range of food and beverages, including performing barista duties and other hot and cold drinks, ensuring quality, consistency and presentation standards are maintained
  • Operate the point of sale (POS) system, accurately process cash and electronic transactions
  • Take customer orders, respond to menu enquiries and assist customers with product selections
  • Clear, clean and reset tables and dining areas promptly to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for customers
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and presentation of front-of-house areas including service counters, display areas, service stations and customer seating areas
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items as required
  • Assist with receiving, checking, handling and storing food and beverage deliveries and support stock rotation to maintain product quality and minimise waste

About You

  • Previous experience in a café, hospitality, or customer service environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service
  • Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
  • Drivers License (Desirable)
  • Certificate II or III in Food Operations and Barista qualifications (Desirable)
