About the opportunity

Join a highly influential Industrial Relations team at Australia Post, where you'll play a key role in shaping enterprise-wide workforce outcomes across one of Australia's largest and most complex organisations. Working closely with senior leaders and executives, unions and key business stakeholders, you'll help drive strategic bargaining, workforce reform and industrial relations initiatives that support business performance, manage risk and deliver positive outcomes for employees and the organisation.

Please note that we welcome applicants from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for this 12 month FTC opportunity.

You’ll also

  • Lead, support and prepare for enterprise bargaining activities, including strategy development, negotiations, approval processes and implementation planning.
  • Lead and support major change programs across the business, providing strategic IR support and advice.
  • Provide expert industrial relations advice to senior leaders & executives and stakeholders on workforce change, industrial obligations, risk management and compliance matters.
  • Manage and resolve complex collective disputes, union claims and consultation processes, including matters before the Fair Work Commission when required.
  • Partner with operational leaders, P&C, Legal and union representatives to deliver practical industrial relations solutions that enable business outcomes.
  • Use data, insights and continuous improvement approaches to strengthen industrial relations processes, consultation planning, bargaining execution and workforce compliance practices.

About you

You're a trusted and commercially minded Industrial Relations professional who thrives in a complex, fast-paced and highly unionised environment. With strong resilience and stakeholder management skills, you're able to navigate sensitive issues, influence senior leaders and build productive relationships across the business.

You’ll also have

  • Significant experience in Industrial or Workplace Relations within a large, complex and unionised organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting enterprise bargaining, including negotiations, claim management, industrial action planning and approval processes.
  • Proven experience managing collective disputes, union engagement, workforce change programs and matters before industrial tribunals or the Fair Work Commission.
  • The ability to identify and manage industrial, compliance and payroll-related risks, using data and insights to support informed decision-making and practical business outcomes.
  • Legal qualifications or equivalent are desirable.
