What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board, you'll lead Suncare's enterprise-wide risk, compliance, quality, audit and assurance functions.

This is a strategic leadership role where you'll help build a proactive risk culture, strengthen governance practices, and ensure Suncare is well positioned to meet its regulatory obligations while continuing to deliver quality care and support across our communities.

You'll provide trusted advice on emerging risks, organisational resilience, clinical governance, compliance obligations and sector reform, helping guide decision-making at the highest level of the organisation.

You will: ·

  • Lead and strengthen Suncare's risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring we meet our obligations while supporting safe, high-quality care across our communities.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify, manage and respond to strategic, operational and clinical risks, helping build a resilient organisation ready for the future.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement by overseeing audit, assurance and governance activities across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic oversight of clinical governance, working collaboratively with leaders to strengthen quality outcomes and manage organisational risk.
  • Lead business continuity, emergency preparedness and critical incident governance, ensuring Suncare is prepared when it matters most.
  • Build capability and confidence across risk, compliance and quality by coaching leaders, developing practical tools and fostering accountability at every level.
  • Enable responsible innovation across Suncare by partnering with leaders to identify and leverage emerging opportunities, including digital transformation and AI, ensuring robust risk oversight, strong governance, and sustainable outcomes that create value for our customers, people and communities.

You’ll thrive in this role if

You're a strategic thinker who can see the big picture while keeping an eye on the details that matter.

You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Law, Governance, Human Services, Health or a related discipline.
  • Significant leadership experience in risk and compliance, ideally within aged care, health, community services or similar highly regulated environment.
  • Deep knowledge of governance, assurance, audit and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of the aged care regulatory environment, including current reforms and quality standards.
  • Experience translating complex legislative and regulatory requirements into practical business activities.
  • Proven success leading organisational change, governance improvement and enterprise risk initiatives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to navigate complexity with confidence.
  • A commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • A current satisfactory National Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one.
