Build smart, scalable digital solutions

12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Newcastle | Hybrid role

Help our users get the most from our digital tools

If you’re motivated by helping people work better, enjoy navigating complex business needs, and have a genuine curiosity for technology, this role is an exciting opportunity to shape the employee experience across NGM Group.

This role will strengthen our capability across Microsoft 365 services (Copilot, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive). You’ll partner closely with the business to improve how work gets done through thoughtful design, strong governance, and practical, user-centred solutions. As a Digital Workplace Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping the employee experience (EX) by helping our people work smarter, collaborate seamlessly, and get the most from our digital tools.

You’ll support stakeholders end-to-end — from understanding business needs through to configuration, rollout, adoption, and ongoing optimisation —ensuring our digital workplace tools are effective, sustainable, and well-used by our ~2,000+ users.

What will your key responsibilities include?

  • Deliver a seamless digital experience by supporting Microsoft 365 adoption, including OneDrive, Teams, inbox management, distribution lists, and AI tools like co-pilot.
  • Troubleshoot issues, manage requests, and ensure workplace platforms operate smoothly in line with organisational standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand their needs, provide guidance, and improve ways of working across the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, optimise, or automate workplace processes and technology to enhance EX.
  • Build strong relationships across cross functional teams to deliver consistent, people-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to documentation, IT health assessments, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in migrations, platform enhancements, and change initiatives with an EX-lens—making sure changes meet user needs.
  • Support change adoption by creating or contributing to simple, clear user guides, tips, and communication materials that help employees get the most out of new tools and features.

What are we looking for?

  • Solid experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, distribution lists, permissions, mail flow).
  • Confident troubleshooting end-to-end M365 issues, including identity, access, sync, device behaviours, and collaboration features.
  • Experience providing application support across enterprise tools, including diagnosing, analysing, and resolving user issues.
  • Understanding of platform configuration, permission models, governance, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to support both cloud and on-premise integrations, especially during transitions or migrations.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for improving the way people work.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to influence and guide colleagues, balancing business needs with employee experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical users.
  • Comfortable working across diverse technologies and picking up new platforms quickly.
