What you will enjoy doing

• You will ensure all transport activities operate in compliance with standards, regulations, Elgas policy and, in the most cost-efficient method whilst meetings Elgas and customer’s expectations
• Further you are in charge to support all areas of the business with an operational emphasis on cylinder & tanker deliveries, driver induction / recruitment, training & support and, scheduling if required
• Monitor and Manage transport costs, contractor performance and payments and, control and payment of payroll / agency labour hire
• You will coordinate and control established standards of maintenance (including preventative maintenance) and breakdown programs on all delivery vehicles
• Complete regular and Random Inspections on cylinder trucks, tankers and any other vehicle used in a transport capacity on a routine basis to ensure that high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security are maintained
• You will meet all metrics and targets set by the business including, transport delivery KPI’s, truck and DEL audits, Customer Promise (transport specific), corrective actions via drivecam and coaching and Linde directives
• Maintain an up to date working understanding of Elgas’ Routing Program (RAT) to ensure maximum cost effectiveness of the transport fleet
• Constant coordination with the Regional Transport Scheduler is imperative

• Proven ability to prioritise, work well under pressure and effectively achieve deadlines is required for this role
• Moreover you have experience to identify and deal effectively with difficult situations and provide appropriate solutions and alternatives
• Ability to multi-task, share team responsibilities to maintain maximum monitoring level of prompt, efficient and courteous customer service
• Initiative, organisational skills and flexibility to operate in both a team environment and independently
• Problem analysis & solving with an attention to detail and accuracy is necessary
• In addition you have a strong transport background
