Take hold of a monster opportunity and join Australian Retirement Trust as our Compliance Specialist, Governance. You'll help strengthen our Compliance Management Framework, maintain accurate obligations governance, and support the business to understand and meet regulatory requirements that protect our members' retirement outcomes.

We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Compliance Specialist - Governance, you'll play an important role in supporting the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of our Compliance Management Framework.

You'll help ensure our compliance obligations register remains current, accurate and aligned to regulatory change. Working closely with teams across the business, you'll support clear governance practices, help stakeholders understand their obligations, and monitor implementation plans for new or amended requirements.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity and can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Establish and support governance structures for compliance obligation management.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance obligations register covering relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry codes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of obligation sources, requirements and changes.
  • Work with business teams to help evidence compliance with relevant obligations.
  • Monitor upcoming regulatory developments and assess their impact on existing obligations.
  • Coordinate with business units to validate obligation applicability.
  • Support the development and monitoring of implementation plans for new or changed compliance obligations.
  • Work with Regulatory Affairs to communicate regulatory changes and implications to relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture aligned to courage, empathy and excellence.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance or a related field.
  • Your background includes superannuation compliance, financial services compliance or experience in another highly regulated environment.
  • You'll bring strong knowledge of superannuation legislation, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, relevant APRA prudential standards and ASIC regulatory guides.
  • You're experienced in compliance governance processes and understand how to apply them in a practical business setting.
  • You bring an open-minded approach and are comfortable sharing new ideas and perspectives.
  • Your adaptability helps you navigate change and support teams through transformation.
  • You'll be committed to continuous learning and regularly building your knowledge, capability and experience.
  • You're able to work collaboratively with stakeholders to support clear, practical compliance outcomes.
