Medical Indemnity Lawyer (Associate or SA)
Law Staff
Join one of Australia’s leading and fastest-growing national law firms, recognised for its technical excellence, strong values and genuinely collaborative culture.
We’re delighted to be partnering with this highly regarded firm to recruit an experienced Health Associate or Senior Associate to join its expanding Brisbane practice. This is a rare opportunity to develop a genuinely specialised career in health law, working alongside highly respected Partners in a supportive and high-performing team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Based in the firm’s brand-new Brisbane CBD office, you’ll work across a sophisticated and diverse range of health law, regulatory and civil litigation matters, including:
- Regulatory and disciplinary investigations and proceedings involving AHPRA, OHO and the Coroner
- Medical indemnity disputes
- Professional college and training investigations
- Private hospital credentialing and accreditation matters
- Statutory investigations, clinical reviews and Commissions of Inquiry
- QCAT and other regulatory proceedings
A genuine point of difference with this opportunity is the structure of the practice itself. The Health team operates separately from the firm’s broader insurance practice, providing lawyers with the opportunity to build specialist expertise and establish a long-term career specifically within the health sector.
You’ll advise an impressive and sophisticated client base including leading medical defence organisations, doctors and allied health professionals, private hospitals and commercial health insurers.
ABOUT YOU
We’re interested in speaking with lawyers from approximately 4 years’ PAE through to Senior Associate level.
You may already be practising within health law, or perhaps have experience across medical indemnity, professional indemnity, insurance litigation or regulatory matters and be looking for an opportunity to specialise further within the health sector.
You’ll bring strong technical and analytical skills, a genuine interest in health law and a proactive and collaborative approach to working with both clients and colleagues.
WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY STANDS OUT
This firm offers a genuinely transparent and merit-based approach to career progression, without unnecessary hierarchy. Talented lawyers are given the opportunity to advance based on their capability and contribution, rather than simply waiting for the next step based on tenure.
You’ll also work closely with experienced and highly regarded Partners who take an active interest in mentoring and developing their lawyers, providing a strong platform to continue building both your technical expertise and broader career.
Additional benefits include
- A genuine hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two from home, alongside further flexibility managed at team level
- A transparent and achievable performance bonus structure
- An exceptional 26 weeks’ paid parental leave available after only six months’ service
- A genuinely inclusive, down-to-earth and social culture
- A strong focus on employee wellbeing, with a range of initiatives and programs
- Sporting clubs, social activities and regular firm-wide events
