About the role

Reporting to the National Return to Work and Injury Manager, the Injury Management Advisor will provide expert injury management and workers' compensation support across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with employees, managers, insurers, rehabilitation providers and medical practitioners to deliver safe, timely and sustainable recovery and return-to-work outcomes.

This role combines case management, stakeholder engagement, coaching, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement to strengthen organisational capability and improve employee wellbeing outcomes.

As the Injury Management Advisor, you will

  • Coordinate injury management activities and facilitate early intervention strategies to support recovery and return to work.
  • Develop, implement and monitor return-to-work plans, suitable duties programs and recovery-at-work strategies.
  • Provide specialist advice on workers' compensation, injury management and legislative obligations.
  • Support injured workers through the recovery process using a wellbeing-focused approach.
  • Liaise with insurers, claims agents, medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers and regulators to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify suitable duties and remove barriers to recovery.
  • Coach and educate managers and employees on injury prevention, early intervention and return-to-work responsibilities.
  • Monitor claims performance, injury trends and return-to-work outcomes to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to injury prevention initiatives, wellbeing programs and safety culture activities.
  • Maintain accurate case records, reporting and documentation within injury management systems.

About you

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised professional with the following background and attributes:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in injury management, workers' compensation, return-to-work or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workplace injury and workers' compensation cases.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation, rehabilitation and return-to-work principles.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful return-to-work and suitable duties programs.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written communication, reporting and case management abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative national team.
  • Experience working across multiple workers' compensation jurisdictions is highly regarded.
  • Experience using Solv Injury Management software is desirable.

Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain:

  • Relevant Return to Work Coordinator accreditation (essential in QLD, NSW, VIC and SA).
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • National Police Check.
  • Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
  • Valid Driver's Licence and willingness to travel.
