Engineering Manager AI

Our client is looking for an Engineering Manager with AI and a background in Data Science and Machine Learning to lead a multi-disciplinary team of data, machine learning, DevOps, and software engineers delivering high-impact AI and data solutions for a leading retailer.

You'll take a product-led approach, partnering with Product Managers, Architects, and Security to deliver our AI and data roadmap while embedding modern engineering and agile practices that drive measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable, production-grade AI/ML and data solutions
• Extensive Data Science/Machine Learning and Data Engineering experience
• Translate business objectives into prioritised technical outcomes alongside Product
• Drive modern engineering practices, CI/CD, DevOps, and quality standards
• Collaborate across architecture, security, and platform teams
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team
• Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and innovation
• Proven experience leading product-led data and/or ML engineering teams
• Strong people leader with a passion for coaching and team development
• Solid background delivering AI solutions into production
• Comfortable working in agile environments focused on continuous value delivery
• Strong product mindset and stakeholder collaboration skills

Tech stack

Azure (AKS, Azure ML), Databricks, Snowflake, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, Python, PyTorch, LangChain, Agile & DevOps practices.
