Growing commercial building & construction company, working on commercial projects across Newcastle, Sydney, and QLD.

Our client is a growing commercial building & construction company, who are known for their high quality practices. They are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team.

You will be responsible for managing construction projects from inception through to project delivery, stakeholder management, managing claims & variations and progress reports. In addition, you will ensure that the high quality and profitability of the projects are maintained while financial and contractual risks are minimised.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on commercial construction projects of a new build nature. Clients are private sector as well as government and will be managing multiple concurrent projects (up to about 3) biggest projects can be worth up to $30m.

The role will be a head office based role. It is a 5 day a week role and will involve a lot of client management and stakeholder engagement with the odd visit to site when required.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Have extensive experience as a project manager in the construction industry
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships
  • Manage commercial construction projects from inception through to completion, delivered on time and within budget
  • Prepare and present job progress reports
  • Manage contract claims and variations
  • Ensure safety adherence to meet corporate and legislative compliance

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering or similar would be ideal
  • Minimum 5 to 15+ years’ experience within the construction industry
  • Construction Safety Induction (White) card
  • Strong financial analysis and administrative focus
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using MS Office Suite
