Events Manager

The National Wine Centre (NWC) is one of Adelaide's leading hospitality venues and a celebration of Australian wine. Situated in the vibrant East End of the CBD and in close proximity to the emerging Lot Fourteen precinct, the NWC is surrounded by the green space of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and parklands.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Event Manager to join our professional team and manage and coordinate front-of-house event operations while ensuring the delivery of exceptional service in accordance with NWC policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Events Manager to manage the delivery of our Event operations and drive service excellence across our conference and events business.

Reporting to the Event Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Events Department, both onsite and offsite. The successful candidate will be passionate about all things Food & Beverage with experience in Events operations and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a motivated professional who thrives in a high-volume, quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to motivate and engage the Events team to consistently deliver five-star service standards.
• Liaise directly with clients and with the Kitchen and Event Planning teams to ensure client expectations are exceeded.
• Be highly visible on the Events floor to oversee/manage major events/functions (this is a hands-on operational role).
• Delegate duties to team leaders and team members as required.
• Assist in monitoring the food and beverage stock, controlling costs, profit and loss expenses and wages through effective staffing levels.
• Drive a culture of Work Health & Safety excellence and ensure compliance with NWC and Adelaide University policies.

About You

You will bring

• A Diploma or Degree in hospitality or a similar management discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in events or food and beverage operations role.
• Highly developed skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
• The ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• The physical capacity to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling event furniture, stock and equipment.
