Empower the Next Generation of Nurses

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) graduate coordinator role will focus on supporting and developing our EN graduates while securing strong workforce pipelines into our programs across our four acute care sites in Melbourne.

About The Role

This is a full-time12 month fixed term position working closely with the education team, your fellow RN Graduate Coordinator and the Student Coordinator.

In this role you will be

  • Mentoring, supporting and coordinating the EN Graduate Program, including study days
  • Partnering with the education team, RN Graduate Coordinator and Student Coordinator to build and maintain workforce pipelines into our graduate programs
  • Leading the supervision training program for our preceptor staff
  • Providing expert clinical and academic advice to managers and staff on graduate learning
  • Working collaboratively with department and education staff who have graduates in their areas
  • Promotion, marketing, recruitment and retention of graduate nurse
  • Performance development and management of graduate nurses as required with the teams on site
  • Assistance with other education program offerings where required, and willingness to work across our four acute care private sites

About You

As a mentor you will have a strong interest in developing the nursing careers of Enrolled Nurses in a dynamic and supportive environment.

You will have the following essential skills:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
  • Knowledge of Enrolled Nurse Standards
  • Knowledge of current trends and challenges with graduate nurse programs
  • Experience working with and supporting early career nurses
  • Sound clinical knowledge to support early career nurses across a variety of clinical settings
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Highly developed performance development and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and pipelines with education providers, students and stakeholders

The following experience would be highly desirable:

  • Previous nursing education experience
  • Managing education programs, ideally with an early career nurse focus
  • Experience delivering or leading preceptor/supervision training
